Experience
Tim’s experience includes assisting broadcasters, news organisations, publishers, and global technology platforms in the defence of libel, privacy, and data protection actions and injunctions in the High Court. He also represents individuals and journalists, and is passionate about developing legal strategies to facilitate the publication of public-interest and investigative journalism. Tim has experience of challenging reporting restrictions, advising on regulatory compliance, and responding to data breaches and investigations.
Tim was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland in 2024 and England & Wales in 2025. He is a member of Next Generation Media Lawyers, Media Law Resource Center (and of the MLRC Next Generation, Pre-Publication, and Anti-SLAPP committees), and the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He is a regular contributor to the London media law blog Inforrm and the Next Generation Media Lawyers Review, and obtained an Advanced Diploma in Media and Social Media Law from King's Inns in 2025.
