As a Partner in Manchester John heads the Finance Litigation UK group, with a focus on the motor finance and consumer credit sector. In addition to his litigation practice, he also advises on internal compliance and legal teams on matters surrounding the regulatory landscape, particularly within the area of consumer credit.
As Head of Finance Litigation John leads a team in providing volume litigation, collections, and recoveries support, as well as providing specialist defended litigation. The work extends from early pre-termination collections right through to handling complex high-value defended claims. HIs expertise covers collections and recoveries on standard regulated finance agreements, actions in conversion/wrongful interference with goods against third parties, satisfactory quality claims against suppliers of goods, claims involving fraud/misrepresentation, and wholesale recoveries.
The group is uniquely placed to provide clients with a truly integrated legal solution between traditional/complex law and our new law (ALSP) offering in the area of Legal Operations where it benefits from cutting edge IT, advanced process development and a highly trained workforce capable of flexing up very quickly to deliver on any volume, customer facing solution.
On the non-contentious side John also advises on strategic policy decisions and implementation surrounding FCA regulation.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit, and supporting Manchester City. As a Spanish national he retains strong cultural and family links to Spain.
