John has vast experience of mergers and acquisitions transactions, both domestic and cross-border, public takeovers under the UK Takeover Code and equity capital markets transactions (including IPOs and secondary offerings both on the main market of the London Stock Exchange and AIM). He is also an expert in multi-jurisdictional reorganisations for multinational corporates. He is recognised by Legal 500 as a Leading Individual.

  • £100m placing by Keyword Studios Plc in May 2020
  • £255m recommended takeover of Manx Telecom plc completed in May 2019
  • Cross-border reorganisation for DS Smith plc in connection with the sale of tis plastics division for US$585m announced in March 2019
  • £108.5m flotation on AIM of Knights Group plc, the legal services company, in June 2018
  • US$5.2bn merger of STERIS Corporation with Synergy Health plc in November 2015
  • €285m sale of MountainPeak Trading Limited to Adler AG in August 2015
  • £500m securitisation refinancing of Dignity plc in October 2014, including a return of capital by way of B&C share scheme
  • £450m acquisition of Moody International by Intertek Group plc in March 2011
  • £64m acquisition of VSG Group Limited by Compass Group plc in September 2010
  • £440m contested takeover of Axon Group plc by HCL Technologies in December 2008
