James is a qualified solicitor and partner. He is the UK Data Protection and Cyber Security Leader at DWF.
Prior to joining DWF, James was part of the leadership team for one of the Big 4 professional services firms' data protection practice. James also has significant in-house experience of addressing data protection requirements in practice, built on his time at a leading international bank based in the UK.
James has substantial experience of working with international businesses to build their data protection programmes, navigate global privacy requirements and to develop operational responses to data protection and cyber security matters.
Utilising his deep knowledge of the law, coupled with his practical experience, James supports businesses to prepare for, respond to and remediate security incidents. In addition, he regularly works with clients to respond to regulatory investigations and defend them against enforcement action.
