22 March 2024

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has added three senior associates to its insurance, global risks and professional indemnity team in Ireland.

Lisa O'Brien, Sarah Falvey and Rory Dunne have joined the global legal business to supplement the global speciality & financial risks and major injury & casualty practices.

With over 25 years' experience in the areas of defamation law, professional indemnity and casualty and a particular emphasis on ADR, Lisa O' Brien's appointment at DWF will complement her previous experience advising private clients, corporate entities, including working with and representing insurance companies, and Public and State Bodies.

Specialising in defence litigation, Sarah Falvey joins DWF with over 9 years' experience advising leading insurers on complex insurance disputes in relation to professional indemnity claims. Sarah has previously acted for high profile clients in commercial litigation claims, construction disputes, and professional indemnity claims relating to engineers, architects and the medical profession. She also advises on subrogation claims, personal injury, casualty, catastrophic claims, motor claims, employer liability, defamation and medical negligence.

Having previously worked in well-known Cork-based firms, Rory Dunne brings over 8 years of experience to his new role in the global speciality and financial risk team at DWF. He has obtained extensive experience before the High Court, Commercial Court, and Court of Appeal acting on behalf of a broad range of corporate and private clients in complex litigation matters. His current focus is advising on Professional Indemnity matters, particularly in the area of construction and arbitration.

Additionally, Neil O'Doherty was recently promoted within the business, moving from the role of solicitor to the position of associate within the major injury & casualty practice. Neil qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and joined DWF in May 2022, specialising in insurance and dispute resolution with a particular focus on personal injury cases.

Chris Wheeler, acting executive partner of DWF in Dublin, said: "We are proud to welcome Lisa O'Brien, Sarah Falvey, and Rory Dunne to our Dublin Insurance team, enriching our global expertise in speciality & financial risks. Their collective experience enriches our practice, complemented by Neil O'Doherty's recent promotion within our major injury & casualty sector. We look forward to their contributions in delivering exceptional client service."
