DWF advises on ninth transaction for Aliter Capital with latest acquisition

27 February 2019
DWF's Scottish corporate team has advised Ipsum Group, backed by private equity fund Aliter Capital, on its third bolt-on acquisition, the purchase of drainage and maintenance company Euro Environmental Utilities Group Limited.

This is the ninth deal closed by Aliter since the beginning of 2017.

This transaction sees Ipsum acquire EEG’s Scotland, North of England and Midlands-based operations. EEG will continue to run its Andover-based South of England operations. This is the third investment that Ipsum has made after the acquisition of CALM in February 2017 and SPEC last year. EEG delivers a range of services including draining maintenance and repair, asset mapping and flood prevention.

Senior associate Gemma Gallagher led the DWF acquisition team, supported by corporate and tax partners Paul Pignatelli and Caroline Colliston, directors Alan Glen and Tom Maxwell, commercial associate Scott McGeachy, solicitors Eilidh Durkin, Mikela Rochford, Freya Gibb and trainee solicitor Sarah Curran.

Paul Pignatelli, Corporate Partner said: "We're delighted to be completing another deal for Aliter Capital, our eighth of the nine they have completed since 2017. This investment by Ipsum will form part of its broader strategy to create a leading national utilities and infrastructure specialist services provider and follows hard on the heels of its acquisitions of CALM and SPEC. Aliter genuinely does differ from a number of private equity funds in focusing on a limited number of carefully selected investments as it maintains its promise to deliver hands-on support. It is a valued and highly active client.
