Event details
Legal practitioners and expert witnesses are already using AI tools; however, consistent frameworks for demonstrating compliance with existing professional duties remain limited. Our panel of experts will consider where responsibility should sit between technology suppliers, individual legal practitioners, experts and their firms, and what effective governance could look like in practice.Following the SRA warning notice issued on 17 August 2026 and the fifth edition of the RICS standard for Surveyors Acting as Expert Witnesses, issued in July 2026, the regulatory and judicial direction is clear.
Yet the practical question remains: how do individual legal practitioners, expert witnesses and their firms meet these obligations in their day-to-day work, and whose responsibility is it to provide the infrastructure to do so?
