Brave New Law: The expanding role of the GC – obstacle or opportunity?

date/time: 11 June 2026, 16:30 - 19:30
Location: 1 Lombard Street Bar & Restaurant, London
0731 Group of people768x528

The next Brave New Law dinner and discussion will take place in London on Thursday 11 June 2026 and explore the expanding role of General Counsel.

Event details

The role of the GC is evolving at pace. Once defined primarily by legal risk, it now spans strategy, leadership, technology, ESG and organisational culture. While this expanded remit brings new influence and opportunity, it also raises questions about capacity, priorities and where legal leadership adds the greatest value.

At this dinner, we’ll explore how General Counsel and senior in house legal leaders are navigating this shift in practice — discussing the opportunities it creates, the tensions it introduces, and the trade offs experienced.

The evening will begin with a fireside discussion, followed by roundtable conversation to encourage open, peer to peer insight, before closing with dinner.
