Experience
Heather is a proactive solicitor with experience of drafting, negotiating and advising upon commercial contracts and supporting upon the delivery of major projects. This has included assisting the Scottish Government in relation to the Project Gigabit programme and supporting an English public authority which is referring a large subsidy to the Competition and Markets Authority.
Recently she has played a key role in advising various Combined Authorities on the allocation and delivery of Brownfield Housing Fund grants and Net Zero contracts. During her career, Heather has gained experience in the DWF's corporate and finance and restructuring teams, where she supported colleagues with acquisitions, disposals and private equity transactions.
Heather has a keen interest in competition law and in this capacity has written advice on the application of Subsidy Control law and articles on the EU’s Foreign Subsidy Regulation. She is a member of DWF Law LLP's Procurement Centre of Excellence which has been set up to add value for and service the requirements of our Public Sector clients. She also has a leading role in the 5 STAR Futures programme in the Glasgow office – DWF's community education programme which is designed to enable young people to unlock their potential by developing their confidence and employability skills.
