Georgina Macnamara

Senior Associate, London

Georgina is a Senior Associate in the Major Injury and Casualty Team in London specialising in catastrophic injury claims in the EL/ PL and motor sectors. She has particular expertise in brain injury, complex orthopaedic injuries and amputation claims. Additionally she specialises in equine and canine liability claims both under the Animals Act and in negligence.

Experience

Having qualified in 2017 in clinical negligence Georgina moved into EL/PL and travel claims in 2018. She began working on catastrophic injury claims in 2019, working on high value motor and EL/PL claims. Notable cases include those arising from the Croydon Tram accident, Grenfell Tower fire and a multi million pound motor injury claim involving a seven year old. As a previous horse owner and experienced rider she has been instructing on equine claims for over seven years and has a developing practice in this area. 

Georgina is a member of DWF's Sports Defence Group and has instructed in both EL and PL equine claims. She has had successful wins for insured yards in both EL and PL claims including racing yards, riding schools and insured individuals. She was the instructed solicitor in the High Court decision of Boyd v Hughes (2025) which has had a positive impact on defending claims under S2(2)(a) of the Animals Act 1971.
