The global HERoes Women Role Model Lists showcase leaders who are championing women in business and driving change for gender diversity in the workplace across the world. Representing multiple sectors and industries, those on the HERoes Role Model Lists have not only achieved success in their careers but also used this to actively drive for more inclusive workplaces.
Each individual was judged on the influence of their role, their impact on gender inclusion and equality inside and outside the workplace and their business achievements.
Seema has been instrumental in creating an inclusive culture at DWF and promoting gender diversity and has grown the Leadership Group into a global board. She has designed trailblazing gender and ethnicity targets across all levels of the business and pioneered D&I best practice to increase the recruitment of a diverse body of talent. Seema serves as a Senior Sponsor to women and BAME professionals.
Commenting on the accolade, Seema said: "I am delighted to have been recognised as a leader in driving gender diversity across our business. Although the legal sector is making progress in moving towards gender equality, there is clearly some way to go to achieve gender parity so that women are equally represented at senior levels within the profession. This change is crucial to the development of a successful talent pipeline and also to ensure we reflect the diversity of our clients. By showcasing the achievements of women championing change ensures continued focus and momentum on this business imperative."
INvolve’s Founder & CEO, Suki Sandhu OBE, said: "Despite the many initiatives to address gender inequality, it’s clear that there is still a shocking lack of women in senior positions which continues to drive a significant gender pay gap.
"With the delays to reporting on the gender pay gap this year, coupled with the negative impact of COVID-19 on pay equality, it’s vital that we continue to push for change. That’s why it’s more important than ever that we celebrate those who are taking action globally to drive inclusion for women, and that’s why the HERoes Women Role Model Lists are so important.
"We’re delighted to be celebrating another fantastic group of people from across the world who are collectively driving cultural change and creating workplaces where women have an opportunity to succeed and be recognised as equal to men."
