DWF announces exclusive association with RCD

10 June 2019
DWF, the global legal business, today announces that it has agreed to an exclusive association with the Spanish law firm, RCD (Rousaud Costas Duran). RCD has 40 partners and a total of more than 400 people. It has offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia and in its last financial year, RCD generated revenue of €34.4m.

RCD is a full-service law firm with strengths in corporate law, tax, insurance, financial services, real estate and energy. It is also a leading firm in Spain for innovation and entrepreneurship and has been consistently ranked by the Financial Times as one of Europe's most innovative law firms.

Andrew Leaitherland, CEO of DWF Group Plc, said: "This is another important step forward for DWF in developing our global network. RCD is a highly-regarded firm in Spain and through its own international network it will also help DWF to support our clients in Portugal and more extensively into Latin America. This builds further on our recent acquisition in Poland and shows that we are addressing another of the international opportunities highlighted in our prospectus.

"We have a significant client and sector overlap with RCD, including in all three of our global sectors of insurance, financial services and real estate. Even more importantly, we are working with a firm that shares our determination to do things differently and to use technology to challenge long-established processes and practices in the delivery of legal services."

DWF continues to strengthen its international offering through transactions and associations. Last month, DWF announced that it had acquired the legal services business of K&L Gates Jamka in a move which gave the Company its first presence in Poland. Earlier this year, DWF expanded in Australia through the acquisition of FT Adjusting, a Connected Services business, and the hire of seven principal lawyers from the Melbourne law firm, WARD Lawyers. Last September, DWF announced it was entering into an exclusive association with the US law firm Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman.

Adolf Rousaud, Managing Partner at RCD, said: “We are pleased to be strengthening our international capabilities through this association with DWF. We have lots of synergies in terms of our ways of working and how we deliver legal services through innovation, technology and our people. We are confident that this association will result in lots of benefits for our clients and our people."
