Food law enforcement annual report shows Trading Standards failing: In its annual report on food law enforcement in England and Wales for year ending 31st March 2019 the Food Standards Agency has highlighted that only 40.8% of planned food standards interventions were completed compared to 86.3% for food hygiene. The Food Standards Agency claims that it will address this through a ‘mix of inspections and better use of intelligence and surveillance'. View >

 

Pay suppliers within 60 days or lose contracts - Government suppliers warned: The Cabinet Office has warned Government suppliers of new rules now in force, under which they run the risk of losing their contracts unless they pay 95% of supplier invoices within 60 days. View >

 

Grocery supplier code extended to T.J.Morris: The Competition and Markets Authority have announced extension of the code to T.J. Morris (Home Bargains) as its turnover has reached the £1Bn threshold for inclusion. View >

 

Voluntary commitment to ingredients and calorie labelling of beer: Through its membership of Brewers of Europe the British Beer and Pubs Association has committed its members to the calorie labelling and ingredients listing of canned and bottled beers by 2022.  View >
