EU publish report on meeting re. protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland: On 30th April the EU and the UK held their first Specialised Committee meeting on the implementation and application of the Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland.

The Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland applies from 1 January 2021 and aims to clearly set out the legal obligations of both parties. The EU is calling on the UK to set out its plans with regard to all implementation measures prescribed by the Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland and to provide a detailed timetable and has emphasised that the exchanges in the Specialised Committee must now be followed up by tangible measures.
