EU chooses Presidents of Parliament, Council and Commission: The European Parliament has elected David Sassoli as President, and also elected fourteen vice-presidents, five Quaestors and decided on numbers for each of its twenty committees. View >View >View > View >

Charles Michel has been appointed as President of the EU Council from 1st December. View >

Ursula von der Leyen has been put forward as Commission President to the EU Parliament for confirmatory vote. View >

Health certificate requirements for animal and animal product exports in case of a no deal Brexit: 
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has published updated guidance. View >

EU Commission reports on member state performance in implementing EU requirements: 
EU DG Growth has published a report showing 1571 infringements of requirements for member states in 2018. The main policy areas concerned were on matters of environment, mobility and transport as well as internal market, industry, entrepreneurship and SMEs. Concerning late transposition cases, Cyprus, Belgium and Spain had the highest amount of open cases, whereas the fewest were open in Estonia, Denmark and Italy. Spain, Italy, and Germany had the highest number of cases pending for incorrect transposition and/or wrong application of EU law.View > View >
