‘Guardians of Grub’ food waste reduction challenge launched: DEFRA Secretary of State Michael Gove has made a speech to launch a food waste reduction initiative to be led by DEFRA appointed food waste champion Ben Elliott and the DEFRA sponsored Waste and Resources Action Plan WRAP.  Under the initiative, pledges are been sought from around 300 major businesses to reduce food waste by 50% by 2030. View > View > View >  DEFRA has also published an update on progress since January 2018 with its 25 year environmental plan. View >


New consumer advice service launched in Scotland: The Scottish Government has announced £600k funding for a ‘Consumer Advice Scotland’ service to be operated which has been welcomed by Trading Standards in Scotland.  View >


Offensive Weapons Act 2019 receives Royal Assent:  The Act will prohibit the sale of corrosives to under 18’s and prevent the online sale of bladed items without age verification and prohibit delivery to domestic addresses. View > View >
