Advertising complaint upheld over ‘Lowest price guaranteed claim’: 
The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a complaint re ‘Really great cruises’ trading as ‘cruise nation’ for lack of evidence to substantiate a ‘Lowest price guaranteed claim’ and lack of explanation as to what was meant. View >

CMA issues final report on proposed ASDA- Sainsbury merger: The CMA has blocked the Sainsbury’s-Asda merger after finding it would lead to increased prices in stores, online and at many petrol stations across the UK. The CMA’s investigation found that, as well as affecting in-store customers, the merger would result in increased prices and reduced quality of service, such as fewer delivery options when shopping online and concluded that the only solution was to block the proposed deal. View >  Sustain >  Food and Drink Federation >

EU Directive bans unfair trading practices in agricultural and food supply chains: 
EU Directive 2019/633 requires all EU member states to implement a ban on a number of commercial practices considered to be unfair in agricultural and food supply chains by November 2021. Member states are permitted to have controls in place going beyond the EU banned practices. View >

National strategy to tackle gambling harms launched: 
The Gambling Commission and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport have launched a national gambling harms reduction strategy focussing on prevention and education and treatment and support. View >  View >
