Safety of sushi production and processing in the spotlight: The Food Safety Authority Ireland (FSAI) has conducted a major audit of food businesses producing and processing Sushi. FSAI found 90% of businesses audited had inadequate controls in place on production and processing activities, 75% did not meet legal requirements for freezing fish for parasite control and that more than 90% did not have adequate operational controls for sushi rice production. Competition and Markets Authority emphasises its consumer activities in Scotland: The CMA has held what it describes as a major event in Scotland emphasising that it now has an office in Edinburgh employing 53 staff and is developing space for a further 50. The event at its new offices explored the challenges faced by consumers and how best to tackle them. View >
