EU says no to discussions on no deal Brexit preparedness: In an exchange of letters with DEXEU Secretary of State Stephen Barclay the EU Chief Negotiator, Michele Barnier has ruled out following a request from the UK discussions on no-deal Brexit preparedness including bilateral discussions with member states outside of the withdrawal agreement. View >

Michele Barnier has also issued a statement calling on the UK to table proposals. View >

Guidance on moving goods through RORO terminals: 
The Department for Transport has issued detailed guidance on how to move goods through UK roll on roll off locations. View >

A further £10m has been allocated to ports to prepare for a no-deal Brexit. View >

Call for evidence on cyber security certification: 
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has issued a call for evidence on UK future arrangements for cyber security certification following a no-deal Brexit and whether adoption of EU rules or mutual recognition would be appropriate – Responses by 15th October. View >

Strategic Trade Advisory Group: 
The Department for International Trade has published the notes from a meeting held with business participants in its Strategic Trade Advisory group on 10th September.  DIT priorities are set out as negotiating free trade agreements with the US, Australia and NZ, achieving continuity agreements, developing 10 free ports and promoting exports and inward investment. View >

UK Business organisations comment: The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has issued a statement that it will be impossible for its members to completely mitigate disruption from a no-deal Brexit. The BRC has also published a no-deal toolkit and guidance for its members.
