Important Updates

  • Review of cold stores and cutting plant food standards: The Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland have announced that they are to complete a review of Cold Stores and cutting plants with the results to be made public. Details of the review are apparently to be announced later in the month. View >

  • New Customs Declaration Service to be phased in from August 2018: HM Revenue and Customs have announced that a new Customs declaration service (CDS) is to be phased in to replace the CHIEF system for all required import export declarations from August 2018. View >

  • Food industry sector council to work closely with government: DEFRA and BEIS Secretaries of State have attended the first meeting of a new Food industry sector council. The Council is to set up a number of expert working groups to advise on specific policy areas. Membership is a mix of trade associations and individual large businesses. View >

  • DEXEU Publish updated fact sheets on the EU Withdrawal Bill: DEXEU have published an extensive set of short fact sheets on a broad range of aspects of the Bill. View >

     

  • UK Government holds bilateral talks with Welsh 1st Minister: DEXEU and Welsh Secretary Alan Cairns have reported a positive outcome to bilateral discussions on Brexit with the Welsh 1st Minister. View >
