Reminder on Modern Slavery Act reporting: The Home Office has announced its intention to write to the Chief Executives of 17,000 businesses reminding them of the need to include a statement of the steps that their businesses are taking to avoid modern slavery in their businesses and supply chains.  The letter threatens name and shame and enforcement action in respect of non-compliance. View >


Security code for manufacturers of consumer internet of things: The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has published a voluntary code of practice for manufacturers on internet security and guidance for consumers. View > 

 

Prices from which reductions claimed ruled not the usual prices: The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld complaints against Laura Ashley on the basis that higher prices had not applied for sufficient time between offers to be considered ‘usual prices’ from which reductions could be claimed. View >
