Sonoco Products Company, a leading diversified global packaging company, has successfully completed the divestiture of its Europe contract packaging business (Sonoco Poland Packaging Services Sp. z o.o.) to Prairie Industries Holdings, backed by The Halifax Group, for cash proceeds of $120 million.
The divesture will support in Sonoco efforts to simplify its operating structure to focus on growing its core Consumer and Industrial packaging businesses.
DWF in Poland have been advising Sonoco Poland Packaging Services sp. z o.o. for over sixteen years, since its establishment in 2004, on corporate matters and through the entire sale process leading to closing. DWF's advisement during the closing phase included legal services connected with the fulfilment of conditions precedent (including labour and corporate matters), closing deliverables and participation in the closing transaction in Warsaw.
