Carles has extensive experience advising start-ups, technology-based companies and public institutions (universities, public research centers and hospitals) on corporate matters (especially M&A and international transactions) and private equity investments and divestments, as well as on the protection, management, exploitation and transfer of their technology. He regularly participates in the development of protection strategies, software licensing transactions and e-commerce platforms, having led legal advice in collaborative software development projects and on IP intensive matters in general.
He also has wide experience in structuring and advising on collaborative R&D development projects at the European level (Horizon 2020, VII Framework Program, Eureka, Iberoeka, etc.) and collaborates in structuring the deployment of the project results. He advises organizations participating in technology infrastructure projects under the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) and is a speaker at public and private forums related to the creation and financing of high-tech start-ups; the protection, management and exploitation of intangible assets of businesses and the attraction, retention and motivation of talent. Moreover, he has been consistently ranked among the most active legal advisers in M&A and Private Equity by Spanish rankings.
