His experience includes dealing with the full range of household and commercial subrogated property recovery claims as well as managing a large property damage recovery team of 22 fee earners based in-house at a national insurer.John was admitted as a solicitor in 2000 and joined DWF in November 2009 after 13 years background in commercial litigation. Prior to that, he joined Halliwells LLP in 1996 as a paralegal and after nine years there, moved to a small niche commercial firm, for 5 years, before joining DWF.

He was invited on an eight-month secondment where he gained a full insight into the interaction between an insurer client and its solicitors.
Examples of recent cases include:
- Substantial fires caused by defective appliances/hot works including a large fire at a public facility caused by refrigeration equipment - value £1M;
- A £1.2m subrogated recovery action arising out of a fallen crawler crane;
- Regular reporting and provision of MI to insurer clients in the role as Recoveries Manager.
