What's your current role and which team do you work in?
I am currently an Associate in the Criminal Defence Team (Commercial Insurance) and specialise in a range of areas including motor prosecutions, policy coverage, public liability defence, subrogated recoveries and cavity wall insulation claims, amongst others.
How has your career grown since starting at DWF?
I joined DWF as a trainee in 2017 (following its acquisition of Triton Global) and qualified into Commercial Insurance in 2018 following a successful period as a trainee within the team.
How has the business supported your career aspirations?
DWF has continually supported my career aspirations. The qualification process is daunting for any trainee but the business really facilitated that process for me. I am also very lucky to have supervisors and mentors within the business who encouraged me to apply for a promotion to Associate and supported me throughout that process. The promotions process itself was very straightforward and I found the guidance available on the intranet, relating to the same, to be invaluable.
Following your quote in this article and your involvement with the Race and Ethnicity network, what are your experiences of D&I at DWF?
D&I is a very important part of DWF's culture, as is evidenced by the business' conscientious D&I strategy and the business is working hard to increase diversity across all career levels. Currently, I am looking forward to the upcoming 'In Conversation With' series of webinars that the business is hosting, which will focus on the 5 strands of DWF's D&I strategy.
What do you like the most about working at DWF?
I would say that the thing I like the most about working at DWF is the team of people that I am fortunate to work with.
