1. What's your current role and which team do you work in?

I am a Senior Associate in the Finance Litigation and Regulation Team. I specialise in advising on a range of banking disputes. I also provide contentious and non-contentious regulatory advice to financial institutions and other businesses on the application of FSMA, consumer credit regulations, Anti-Money Laundering and payment services.

2. How has your career grown since starting at DWF?

I have been with DWF since I was trainee, and qualified in October 2017 – I have not looked back since!

3. How has the business supported your career aspirations?

The business has recognised my abilities and potential, and trusted me with responsibility and experience that would perhaps traditionally be deemed to exceed my qualification years. That trust has been rewarded by my development – which has allowed me to become a trusted advisor to our key clients. The business has also understood my ambitions and helped to work with me to achieve them, through open and honest conversations and forward planning.

4. How have you found the promotions process at DWF?

I was given plenty of support in crafting my business case by senior staff and leadership, which included detailed discussions about what I actively needed to do to meet the criteria for the role. I was also provided with a raft of materials to assist me with it through our learning platform, DWF Academy.

5. Following your quote in one of our articles and your involvement with the Race and Ethnicity network, what are your experiences of D&I at DWF?

I have been encouraged and welcome DWF's continued efforts to increase diversity, and making sure diversity and inclusion is a key part of its strategy for growth.

6. What do you like the most about working at DWF?

The people. Throughout my 7 years in the business, I have been struck by the approachability of all the staff – and especially senior members and leadership. That has given me the confidence to speak to people about my ambitions and development, and I have forged friendships along the way.
