The XXVth Congress of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) will be held in Edinburgh from 18 – 21 September 2022. Ahead of that event we are hosting a webinar discussing the use and successful deployment of expert evidence in international arbitration.

Event Details

Katherine Doran, a Director in the Construction & Infrastructure team at DWF, will discuss the role of experts in international arbitration, and innovative approaches to taking expert evidence.

We will also be joined by a host of guest speakers, each bringing invaluable insight into the role of experts and how complex evidence can be delivered in a manner which is clear, coherent and appropriate to the needs of the tribunal.

Lynne McCafferty QC is a Barrister at 4 Pump Court. Lynne is used to dealing with highly technical cases, and will be providing her insights into what makes a good expert witness.

Hamish Clark is a Chartered Architect and a Partner at HKA. He has provided expert evidence for international arbitrations on a number occasions including oral evidence for in-person and virtual hearings and concurrent evidence. Hamish will provide a case study in managing multiple technical issues in complex arbitrations.

Gavin Pearson leads the Forensic Accounting and Investigations team at Quantuma. Gavin will share is experiences of giving evidence in arbitrations, including giving an anonymised case study of responding to a multi-million dollar loss of profit claim in an ICC Arbitration.
