DWF invests in AI with global rollout of Copilot for Microsoft 365

17 May 2024

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, today announces that it is to make Copilot for Microsoft 365 available to every colleague globally.

Copilot for Microsoft 365 helps users improve their productivity by performing a variety of everyday tasks across the Microsoft 365 suite. This includes summarising emails, identifying actions or drafting replies, creating first drafts of project plans or presentation templates, analysing data sets and providing transcripts or key outputs from Teams meetings.

DWF is one of the first UK-headquartered legal services businesses to deploy Copilot for Microsoft 365, and this is the latest development in the firm's Digital Transformation programme. It follows the global rollout of a new people platform, Bob, and a new case management system, ShareDo. An initial cohort of 300 DWF colleagues have been trialling Copilot for Microsoft 365 since January 2024. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, both in terms of the intuitive nature of the technology and the outputs it generates.

Matt Glenville, Chief Operating Officer at DWF, said: "This is an exciting development for DWF which will help our colleagues to save time, be more productive and work more effectively. We believe that giving our colleagues access to Copilot as standard, whatever their career level, business area or location, will be a differentiator for us and help us to attract and retain the best.

"Fee earners will have the opportunity to focus more of their time on delivering the exceptional service our clients expect. It will help us to make further improvements in our business-as-usual activities and is the latest step forward towards realising the capabilities of AI across our business."

Chris Perkins, General Manager, Enterprise Commercial, Microsoft UK, added: "AI has the power to transform every industry and it offers a wide array of benefits for the legal profession. DWF is a forward-thinking organisation which is investing for growth by making people's working lives easier and achieving productivity gains in the process. We are delighted to be helping DWF accelerate its AI journey."
